Breakthrough has been serving the East Garfield Park neighborhood for nearly 30 years, partnering with those affected by poverty to build connections, develop skills and open doors of opportunity. Breakthrough supports people through:

• Education & Youth Development | Opportunities for students ages 2–24, focusing on parent engagement.
• Economic Opportunity | Providing resources that foster financial wellness & economic stability.
• Housing | Transitional & permanent housing for those experiencing homelessness. Daily supportive services for those in crisis.
• Health & Wellness | Behavioral health, food access, sports/fitness programs & medical care. 
• Violence Prevention | Reducing violence through a comprehensive, scientific, public health approach that changes behaviors & eliminates the conditions that allow violence to spread.
• Spiritual Formation | Opportunities for devotions, prayer, Bible studies & spiritual direction.
