“@TheMovies” Sermon Series

August 3 – 25 | Oak Brook

No other resource has influenced human history like the Bible. For centuries, the themes found in Scripture have found their way into the narratives of life. Whether it’s the struggle of good vs. evil, the pursuit of justice or the love of a Savior, these themes find their way into our best stories. In our modern world, movies and films often retell these biblical themes, whether overtly faith-based or not, movies can help illustrate biblical truth.

Join us on a four-week adventure as we explore the intersection of faith and film. We will discover how movies help illustrate biblical truths and will dive into three movies that help us understand Scripture better. Dr. Arthur Bamford, the grandson of our founding pastor Rev. Dr. Arthur DeKruyter, will kick off this series. Dr. Bamford has spent years studying the intersection of music, media, film, popular culture and faith.
